As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Safavi Impact Institute and the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), the project team presented the results of the second development phase of the Win²Work project in early June. The meeting with Francesco R. Safavi focused on showcasing a first functional version of the application, which is designed to support people with refugee and migration backgrounds in accessing the Austrian labour market.

Win²Work was developed to address some of the most common challenges faced when entering the labour market, including complex administrative procedures, qualification recognition, document management, and the search for suitable job opportunities. The project builds on findings from workshops, interviews, and user surveys conducted with Ukrainian women living in Austria.

The current version of the application combines three key functions within a single platform. At its core is a digital wallet that allows users to securely store personal documents, certificates, and qualification records. This is complemented by an automated CV analysis system. Once a CV is uploaded, the application identifies relevant skills, professional experience, and qualifications and prepares this information for further processing.

Based on this data, the job-matching function compares identified competences with current vacancies collected from various job platforms. Users are presented with job opportunities that correspond to their professional profiles. The aim is to simplify what is often a time-consuming job search process while increasing the chances of finding employment that matches a person’s qualifications and experience.

Another advantage of the system is the central management of important documents. Certificates, qualification records, and other relevant documents no longer need to be searched for across different platforms or devices. Instead, they are available in one place and can be accessed whenever needed.

The application has been developed in close cooperation with participants of the Safavi Impact Institute. During several workshops, Ukrainian women tested the platform’s functions and shared their experiences and recommendations. Their feedback was incorporated directly into the further development of the system.

The next project phase will focus on improving the matching algorithms, integrating additional document types, and further enhancing the user interface. Planned developments also include multilingual and mobile versions of the application, as well as AI-supported recommendations to help users improve their CVs.

For the Safavi Impact Institute, Win²Work demonstrates how digital innovation can help overcome practical barriers to labour market integration. The overall goal remains to make existing skills and qualifications more visible and to facilitate access to employment opportunities that match people’s professional backgrounds.
