The Safavi Impact Institute has completed its Business English for Ukrainian Women in Austria course, created to strengthen professional communication skills and support career development.
The final session included an international teleconference with two U.S. professionals — Jessica Curry from Amazon and Jackie Cody Downing, leadership and HR expert. The participants spoke with them about practical aspects of work in American companies. They discussed how managers make decisions in unclear situations, what experienced leaders look for when assessing why a project is failing, and how trust is built with senior stakeholders who have different priorities. Jessica also addressed the role of AI in security and the challenges it brings.
The conversation with Jackie focused on workplace culture, adaptation of newcomers, and expectations toward non-native speakers. She explained how U.S. corporations evaluate CVs, how competitive the financial sector is, and what high-level client service means in practice. The guests also shared observations about team dynamics, leadership styles, and cultural differences in communication.
This final session offered the participants direct insight into the U.S. corporate environment and concluded the course with practical guidance for their further professional development. The Safavi Impact Institute will continue creating programs that connect Ukrainian women in Austria with international expertise and new opportunities.
