How is a TV program actually produced? What happens behind the scenes in a major media organization? Participants of the Safavi Impact Institute explored these questions during an excursion to ORF on April 20.
The visit was initiated by our Business German instructor, Martin Höffinger, who introduced the excursion as a practical extension of the course. On site, participants had the opportunity to experience the Austrian media landscape up close.
During the guided tour, they explored TV studios, production facilities, and selected areas of the newsroom. They gained insights into how a broadcast is prepared, the technical processes involved, and how workflows are coordinated in the studio. The basics of journalistic work, as well as ORF’s role within Austria’s media system, were also clearly explained.
Such experiences are a key part of our approach: learning goes beyond the classroom. Excursions like this help participants apply professional language in real-life contexts, discover new career perspectives, and feel more confident navigating the Austrian work environment.
Our goal remains to combine language learning with practical experience, creating a strong foundation for successful professional integration in Austria.
