The Film Club at the Safavi Impact Institute offers a relaxed and enjoyable way to deepen German language skills in a practical context. At the heart of the program are German-language films from a variety of genres, which are watched together and then discussed in an informal setting.
Each film evening is accompanied by an experienced German instructor who explains colloquial expressions, new vocabulary, and cultural nuances in a clear and accessible way. By engaging directly with everyday situations depicted in the films, participants naturally improve their listening comprehension and ability to express themselves in German.
In addition to its linguistic benefits, the Film Club encourages connection and intercultural exchange. It’s a space where new friendships and networks are formed and relationships that extend beyond the classroom and support smoother integration into life in Austria.

Participants confirm the positive impact of the Film Club:
“Since joining the Film Club, I feel much more confident speaking German in everyday conversations. I especially appreciate the explanations of dialects and idiomatic expressions,” says Tetiana, a regular attendee.
Viktoriia also values the experience:
“Not only have I improved my German, but I’ve also made new connections and now feel much more integrated into Austrian society.”
The Film Club thus offers not only a fun and supportive learning environment, but also a meaningful opportunity to build social ties and feel more at home, linguistically and culturally, in Austria.
